Facility Closures

3/29/2020

As a nonessential business, we must comply with the closures mandated by Colorado law to limit the exposure and spread of coronavirus. The law currently specifies a continued closure through April 30, but this date may be adjusted over time.
My one concern about the facility is the heater is still running on its normal schedule. It takes about 20 minutes or more to reprogram the heater and I haven't gone in to do that.

At this time we are losing about $500 a month in shop fees.

Earlier I said if you have a shop key and were willing to wipe down the facility upon entry, you could use the shop privately. Unfortunately this privilege is now in violation of the nonessential business closure law. While I feel the risk of transmission is remote, the governor stated nonessential businesses that violate the closure order may be subject to penalties. - Jama

Jama,

I would like to go to shop and pick up things from my locker....can I do that? I will take wipes and wipe door knobs, locker, etc.
Please let me know.

We are not open for business but if you have a key, and if you come prepared to protect yourself from surface exposure, then you can enter the facility for a variety of valid reasons. It would be great if you wiped down on the way out the door, but everyone entering the building should assume surface contamination is a possibility.

Does a "valid reason" to enter the shop for keyholders include use of the shop facilities for personal use? Kind of like a keyholder-only shop day? With the caveat that all appropriate cleaning protocols be implemented?

Unfortunately operation of the shop for personal, business, or leisure activity is no longer allowed by the State of Colorado. The Governor has called upon the community to report violations of non-essential businesses that continue to operate. The penalty is, I believe, $5000. However to enter the building to pick up bills, contracts, make a deposit, set the thermostat, clean, etc., the essential upkeep of the business an facility … these are allowed.
